Angie Vandenberg, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Practicum Therapist at Leanne Sawchuk Psychotherapy

Hi, I'm Angie. I'm part of Leanne's care team, completing my clinical placement here under her supervision.

There are moments in life that stop you in your tracks. The world keeps spinning, but it feels as though you have been left behind. A career that no longer fits. A relationship that has shifted. A loss that rewrote the rules. You are standing in the middle of it, wondering how to find your footing again.

That is exactly where I come in.

I work with individuals navigating change, grief, relationship challenges, and the kinds of transitions that do not come with a playbook. Whether you are trying to understand why things feel so hard, what the path forward might look like, or how to reconnect with yourself and the people who matter most, this is the space for that.

My work is collaborative and holistic. I believe that health and well-being are influenced by many interconnected factors, so I take a wide-angle view of who you are and what you are carrying.

Some things are hard to talk about. We can move at whatever pace feels comfortable.

I respect the decision to ask for help, and I am glad you have landed here.

What continually draws me to this work is a deep desire to be part of the human search for meaning. To sit with someone in the hard parts and help them find their way through. Not around. Through.

Together, we will explore the parts of you that adapted to survive your past and consider whether the present warrants a new approach. Often it is the simple things that create the foundation for a happy and meaningful life.

Be still. Find yourself. Begin again.

This is what we will do.

Who I work with.

I support individuals navigating the kinds of moments that change everything, and the quiet aftermath that follows.

Life Transitions & Identity Shifts

The disorientation of outgrowing a chapter before the next one has taken shape. Career changes, academic crossroads, and the grief that comes with letting go of who you used to be.

Grief & Loss

Whether it is the death of someone you love, the end of a relationship, or the loss of a future you had planned. We make space for all of it.

Relationship Challenges

Patterns of disconnection, conflict avoidance, or the quiet distance that grows when you stop saying what you really mean. We create space to understand yourself and others differently.

Anxiety & Overwhelm

The constant hum of worry, the bracing for what might go wrong, the exhaustion of holding it all together while pretending you are fine.

Communication & Conflict

The pattern of avoiding hard conversations, saying what you think the other person wants to hear, or shutting down when things get difficult.

Stress & Burnout

When you are running on empty and cannot remember the last time you felt like yourself. We slow down and figure out what needs to change.

My Approach

My approach is holistic and relational, drawing from several evidence-based frameworks tailored to what you need in the room. I believe that connection on a personal level creates safety, and that safety is where the real work begins.

01

Collaborative

We work as a team. You set the pace, we set the goals together, and we are always free to change course or explore a new direction.

02

Holistic

I look at the full picture, the many factors that influence your health, your relationships, and your sense of self, not just the symptom that brought you here.

03

Relational

Healing happens in the context of a safe, respectful relationship. I acknowledge the strength it takes to ask for help, and I meet you with warmth and honesty.

04

Adaptive

I draw from multiple therapeutic orientations and tailor my approach to your unique needs, comfort zone, and goals.

Training & credentials.

I am committed to growing as a clinician every day. Here is a snapshot of my training and qualifications.
